Hey, it's another screenshot!

Today's screenshot comes once again from Casey - it was a day or two after the Bunker closed and he and I was expressing my displeasure at his not at least having the courtesy of notifying me via email before he deleted the group (something he has now admitted would have been the more appropriate thing to do). I strongly objected to his smearing of the moderators, and especially me, because I had bent over backwards trying to work with them.

It looks like yet another hole has been blown in the "moderators wouldn't work with us" line of crap that keeps being spewed.

One of the things I keep coming back to in this whole "let's paint the BunkerBabes as troublemakers" line of propaganda is what happened on Ravelry right before the election. A week or so before election day, a "wall" was put up so that opposing groups couldn't post on each other's boards in order to eliminate the drama. What some people didn't realize was that "wall" was only one-way. Liberals were barred from posting on Conservative groups, but Conservatives didn't have that same restriction. The logical conclusion was that Casey knew where the problems were coming from - hence the one-way barring.

**just to note - I redacted some information in the above screenshot to protect them and because I didn't feel like looking at Casey's face the rest of the day **

And for the idiot liberals in the audience... the "please stop trashing us everywhere" was MY subject line to Casey - not his to me - so nice try - thanks for playing.

I thought that the liberal groups decided not to ban conservative members from posting? That's how I remember it--all the political groups had the option of banning the opposition, and some of them chose not to. But I could be wrong.

Thanks for the screenshots, BTW. They're very illuminating.

They did have that option - although the conservatives were never banned from there until election day - weeks after the initial "wall" went up.

We never had the option of banning the other side - we asked for it to remain that way after the election and were told "no dice".

The problem was never the conservatives going over into the liberal groups anyway - it was always the other way around.

I'm really sorry this happened to you guys. I was a member of the group when it was the McCain group and then unjoined after the election. I wasn't that involved in the group after the election which is why I left...I was pairing down my groups....
I do remember during the election going into the anti Sarah Palin group to look around and being so shocked at what was being said...it was HATE...how your group was closed and that one wasn't is typical of most places these days. If you are a liberal...well...it's acceptable to make accusations and hate speech...if you are a conservative voicing your opinion, then you are banned.

Thinking of you guys and hoping there is some resolution in your future. It is after all a community of knitters...which in my opinion should be the purpose of our being on Ravelry first and foremost. Closing the group is one thing (whether it be warranted or not), but banning your membership as a knitter is quite another...

Thanks, EllieJane, for these blog posts. I'm finding the whole thing very frustrating, and I'm not even one of those directly effected. (Or is that affected? Never mind.)

Jasini, you're right ... it's "affected" ...

Thanks for continuing to share the screen shots, EJ. I'm glad you waited to share them until you *had* to.

And you're completely correct ... if we went into an "opposition group" it was to look and read and try to understand where the hate and vitriol was coming from ... and most of us, including me, couldn't bear the thought of exposing our minds to things we'd never be able to scrub out of them.

The trolls just couldn't leave well enough alone .. they are truly sad souls.
